Andrei Tarkovsky chose to shoot the majority of his 1966 film Andre Rublev in gorgeous black-and-white, waiting until the final moments before switching to color. Embedded above is another look at the movie in color: five minutes of beautiful footage from the set of the film. The scenes feature no on-set conversation (instead, they are set to music by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich), but it is enough to simply watch the great director making one of his most heralded works.
