Our seventh issue is now available. We have two feature interviews this month: French filmmaker MIA HANSEN-LØVE (Goodbye First Love, Father of My Children, All Is Forgiven) and Portuguese filmmaker MIGUEL GOMES (Tabu, Our Beloved Month of August, The Face You Deserve). Both interviews are around 50 minutes in length and crossover in the sense that both filmmakers have predilictions for working with two-part structures in their films. Gomes’ Tabu is currently in theatres in Toronto thanks to FilmsWeLike.

This month’s profile is a 32-minute Q&A with filmmaker and cinematographer STÉPHANIE WEBER-BIRON, who has lensed films by Xavier Dolan (Heartbeats, I Killed My Mother), Jason Buxton (Blackbird) and even worked with Spike Jonze and the NFB on Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More to Life.

The video essay included in this issue is a look at the lyrical branches of Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. The essay is written, edited and narrated by Spencer Everhart.
