This year’s Ann Arbor Film Festival hosted a retrospective screening of the Super 8 film work by Detroit-based artist Joseph Bernard, and this hugely affecting and beautifully crafted short from 1983 is a clear standout from that program.

In the words of the filmmaker himself: “A traveling-text soliloquy acknowledging an unknown, perceptive audience member with whom I’m sharing this film.”
