Few individuals are more suited to discuss the elusive films of Antonioni as Alain Robbe-Grillet. The philosopher/screenwriter/director, largely know for writing Resnais‘s classic Last Year at Marienbad (1961), is a brilliant mind whose work in screenwriting and directing bears striking similarities to the director’s Modernist aesthetic. Here, both of the men come together to briefly discuss some of Anotonioni’s rigorous, classic films, particularly L’Avventura (1960) and Blowup (1966).
