Ramon Zürcher is a Swiss filmmaker who has made four short films before releasing his debut feature, The Strange Little Cat. The film, inspired by Kafka’s The Metamorphosis and developed during a seminar conducted by Béla Tarr, focuses on a family over the course of a day – rarely leaving the location of their apartment.
Ramon and his brother Silvan, a producer on the film, joined us for a glass of wine in our OCAD U studio space during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival to discuss the film’s conception, structure, style and reception.
This interview was first published in February of 2014.
