THE ACADEMY & THE SEVENTH ART TO PRODUCE BACKSTAGE WEBCAST OF THE CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS
TORONTO, March 7, 2014 – The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and online video magazine, The Seventh Art are teaming up to produce a live- streaming backstage show at the CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS, March 9 starting at 6 pm. For the third year running, the live webcast at www.theseventhart.org will feature interviews with Canadian film and television stars and auteurs. The stream can also be accessed from www.academy.ca.
“We’re proud to offer both Canadian and international online viewers a backstage experience from inside the Canadian Screen Awards,” says Suzan Ayscough, Academy Director, Communications. “Multiplatform and online are where we’re at, and this coverage gives viewers a behind the scenes glance of both nominees and winners,” she said.

The Seventh Art is known for its innovative interviews with filmmakers from Canada and around the world. During the CBC Broadcast of the Canadian Screen Awards, fans and followers alike can watch fun, intimate and informative interviews with Seventh Art host Christopher Heron, joined by Laugh Sabbath comedians Tim Gilbert (This Hour Has 22 Minutes) and Tom Henry (Canadian Comedy Award Nominee, Best Stand-Up Newcomer).
Past guests have included, Jean-Marc Vallée, James Cromwell, George Stroumboulopoulos, Gabrielle Miller, Mark McKinney, Emily Haines and the Dragons’ Den dragons, to name a few.
